Chris Newby

Chris manages the supply of all legal services to Chartis Europe's general insurance companies and the European legal team. He is responsible for managing Chartis Europe's legal risk, including designing the legal department's structure and controls to comply with the FSA's rules on legal risk management (legal reporting, precedents and guidelines, environmental risk committee, external legal panel input). He is also responsible for all legal issues in Chartis Europe's general insurance business, including working with the board and senior management on Chartis Europe's regulatory issues, corporate governance, non-claims disputes, outsourcing strategy, data protection, registration of intellectual property, M&A transactions, broker relationships, reinsurance structures.
